Request for blood collection participants
St. Vincent Health, with our partner Abbott, is seeking community blood donors from May 4 to May 13 to support a research project. Participants will be compensated $40 for helping out.
The purpose of this study is to collect blood samples from subjects to evaluate the performance of products on the Abbott i-STAT System.

PEOPLE INCLUDED NEED TO BE:
✔ 18 years of age or older
✔ Willing and able to consent for himself/herself.
✔ Feeling well enough to have blood drawn.
And not have the following:
- History of unusual bleeding or bruising.
- Regular blood donor outside of this study (e.g., regular donor to America’s Blood Centers, Canadian Blood Services, or equivalent agency)
- HIV, liver disease (e.g., hepatitis), or any recent illness. − Fainting or other bad effects when blood is drawn. − Knowledge of current pregnancy (for females only). − Excess blood loss in the last 2 months.
- Surgery scheduled in the next month.
