Letter to Our Community
My family and I have been in Leadville for 2 months now; it has been great. My wife, Amy, and I are so grateful for your warm welcome. Our son is attending school here and has made many friends. We were lucky enough to purchase a home and are getting settled in as time goes on. We look forward to getting more involved in the community and meeting more community members.
St. Vincent has begun the 2nd year in our estimated 3-year financial turnaround. From where we sit now, the view is much better than a year ago, but we still have a long road ahead of us. As with any change, things will take time.
Moving into Year 2, we continue to strengthen our finances, pay debts, and put safety nets and processes in place to increase our health as an organization. Additionally, we are focusing on recruiting providers and assessing the availability of specialty services.
As I have continued getting to know the staff here, it is incredibly encouraging to see and hear how invested they are in our organization. We truly have a great team here. The Mission of SVH is “Delivering Excellent Healthcare to our Community with Dedication, Honest, and Compassion” and I have no doubt we will continue to do so.
The SVGHD Board and I would like to sincerely thank the staff of St. Vincent Health, the residents of Lake County, and our partners for their continued support over the past year.
I look forward to meeting more Leadvillians (or is it Leadvillites’s?), and I encourage you to reach out to me if I can be of any assistance.
