June Is Men's Health

Are you “bad about going to the doctor?”

You are not alone!  According to a national survey by Cleveland Clinic, 50-60% of men reported not getting regular health screenings.

Men’s Health Month is a great time to change the narrative. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to health. By arming yourself with nutrition, exercise, mental health, and preventive care, you gain the tools to make actionable choices that positively impact your lives. Not to mention you set a good example for the young men in your life.

St. Vincent Family Health Center Can Help

One of the top things you can do to stay healthy is to see your primary care provider (PCP) regularly. Your PCP is your home base. Even if you are not facing any current health challenges, it’s still important to have an annual physical exam. Yearly physicals are a great way to have open dialogue with your doctor and learn about emotional health, diabetes, prostate health, cancer prevention, healthy aging and more. Your PCP can also help you be aware of your family history as well as the risks for your age, ethnicity and lifestyle.
